Car Designer Satoshi Wada Talks about the World of “W”

Since the launch of the first model in June 2012, 27 variations have been created over the past 10 years, making the “W” series the leading model of this project.
In June 2022, a new color model inspired by the light of a crescent moon shining mystically on a quiet summer night was introduced in Japan, and an online talk was held with the designer Satoshi Wada.
Mr. Satoshi Wada, who has been challenging various creative fields including car design, talks about the role of design and its relationship with society through his own works.

Representative of SWdesign co., ltd. After working at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and studying at the Royal College of Art in England, he moved to Audi AG/Audi Design in Germany. He was responsible for the exterior design of the A5, which was described as "the most beautiful coupé in the world," as well as the A6, Q7, and A7, contributing to the global breakthrough of the Audi brand. In 2009, he returned to Japan and started his own business. Using his depth of experience in Germany and playing an active role mainly in automotive design, he proposes minimal things and lifestyles for a new era.
Design writer. After graduating from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University, she worked for a manufacturer and then worked as an assistant under design engineer Shunji Yamanaka from 2012 to 2016. She then lived in Scotland for a year, and now works as a freelance design writer, writing for design-related media, as well as composing exhibitions, copywriting, brand statements, and so on.
